Our Research Projects

Autism Research

Dream Catchers is partnering with
the College of William & Mary
to study the impact of therapeutic riding
for children with Autism.

The findings of this study not only support the effectiveness of therapeutic riding
for children with autism,
but also indicate this positive impact generalized to the school classroom.

We are currently seeking grant and donor funding for the continuation of our projects and expansion into new areas. Dream Catchers is one of the first centers to begin to look beyond the physical benefits of therapeutic riding and empirically investigate the social and emotional improvements that have been anecdotally reported for years by parents, instructors, and volunteers alike.  The goal for our research program is to provide evidence-based support for our programs that ultimately will help our riders to achieve their greatest potential.
