The Horse–Boy

I really hope folks will come join us at the Kimball Theater this coming Saturday, January 16th at 3:30 p.m. for a free showing of the “Horse Boy.” This documentary, based on the book by Rupert Isaacson, chronicles his efforts to connect with his autistic son, Rowan. The power of the horse is the bridge that brings Rowan out of himself and into the world.

When I read the book, I couldn’t put it down. We at Dream Catchers know the power of the horse. We depend on that power to reach our students with autism- 62 since 2007, and our other students- 259 total since 2007.

We appreciate the Kimball for their generosity in making this free event happen. We appreciate those of you who have sent e-mails announcing the event on to friends and family- and we hope to see you all there.

The movie gives us an opportunity to celebrate the power of the horse, to share a little bit about what we do at Dream Catchers, and to invite you to get to know us. If you can’t attend on Saturday, the movie is playing all week- (not free); I encourage you to make time to see it. Then, call us. Come visit us. Let us share with you what we have to offer to people with special needs. How you can be a part of the amazing things that happen, as a volunteer, or how you can support making dreams come true on the back of a horse.
